We invite college students to make a difference in the lives of our Pacific Islander youth by volunteering at our youth conferences on Oahu or Hawaii.  These are some of the volunteer opportunities for you to join.

Outreach Team

  • Be part of the team that visits the local high schools to talk about the conference and energize students to attend
  • Teach the “We Are Oceania” theme song to high school students
  • Be willing to share your college journey with high school students
  • Register students
  • Transportation will be provided

Hospitality Team

  • Friendliest kine who enjoy meeting and being hospitable to visitors
  • Make poster signs
  • Welcome participants, speakers, sponsors, etc
  • Point out parking spot
  • Greet the participants
  • Usher participants to registration stations
  • Make ti leaf leis for VIPs and speakers
  • Help serve the lunch
  • Help clean up at the conclusion of the conference

Registration Team

  • Set up multiple registration tables
  • Check-in participants
  • Help clean up at the conclusion of the conference
  • Issue name tags
  • Issue gift bags
  • Help clean up at the conclusion of the conference

Workshops Team

  • Serve as panelist for a breakout session
  • Welcome participants to the session
  • Make sure all the equipment for workshop are in working condition
  • Keep track of workshop “time” to start / end on time
  • Help clean up at the conclusion of the conference

Media Team

  • Must own digital camera, iphone, or video camera
  • Take photos of all activities
  • Videotape footages of all activities
  • Conduct short video interviews of participants
  • Put together a photo / video presentation for Opening & Closing Ceremony
  • Help clean up at the conclusion of the conference

Music / DJ Team

  • Teach and lead the “We Are Oceania” theme song to student clubs prior to the conference
  • Lead the theme song during the  event
  • Serve as master of ceremonies
  • DJ music during breaks, meals, resource fair
  • Help clean up at the conclusion of the conference

Resource Fair Team

  • Print table signs
  • Pick up stages from cafeteria the day before, decorate stage on Saturday morning
  • Decorate Campus Center Plaza
  • Help Hospitality Team to welcome participants during arrival
  • Help Workshop Team during Opening Session
  • Set up multiple tables in different stations at the Plaza
  • Assign tables to organizations
  • Welcome and help program representatives set up their tables
  • Welcome participants to resource fair
  • Help clean up at the conclusion of the conference

Evaluation Team

  • Work with the Planning Committee’s evaluator to create and evaluation forms
  • Make copies and create package for each workshop
  • Administer general evaluation form during the closing event
  • Collect all evaluation forms
  • Data entry for all evaluation forms

Cultural Demo Team

  • Do you have some individual cultural skills set to demonstrate sometime during the conference?
  • Are you a student club that can perform a cultural dance from your island?

Website Team

  • Join Vid Raatior (vid@raatior.com) if you are tech savvy, familiar with the WordPress platform to be part of the Pacific Focused website support team for the Navigating Success project.

Planning Committee

  • Join the planning committees on Oahu or Big Island to help plan and implement the annual conference
  • Help us outreach at churches, schools, organizations about the event
  • Solicit sponsorship and donation on behalf of the event
